November - Trip to Riviera Maya Mexico
In August of 2004 I received an email telling me that I was the grand prize winner in the ladyspeedstick contest and that I had a choice of 3 vactions: Jamaica, Cuba or the Yucatan. Having a life long interest in all things Mayan I decided on the Mayan Riviera and as I delved further into the information about the hotel, it became even clearer that this was the place I wanted to go to. Thanks to the Internet I had gathered so much information that when we arrived in Cancun and at the hotel I felt right at home.

We arrived on Sunday afternoon October 31, 2004 at the very busy Cancun airport. The day of our departure, a week later, we discovered just how busy the airport is. On the departure screens there was an airplane scheduled every 10 minutes and as we taxied for takeoff there were 4 planes ahead of us and I don't know how many planes landed in this time period.
Once they opened the airplane doors we were assaulted by an unbelievable heat. Coming from Canada with a day time high of 10°C only a few hours earlier and ending up with over 30°C and high humidity almost took our breath away.
If I could sum up my trip with a few pictures these would be the ones.

On January 1, 2005 I participated in a scrapbooking challenge at www.scrapbooking-bytes.com and the picture below is the result.
