Bra Purse

the materials

the purse!

I found these black bra halves lying around and just had to do something with them. They are the foamy kind, almost feel like foamcore board. I rummaged around and found I had enough items to make a the small purse.

First I had to figure out how to keep it closed. That's when I came across a small white zipper. I could not just sew it in as the to bra halves left an oval gap at the top. So I trace the oval and cut some black fabric to fill in the gap and inserted the zipper. Sewing the zipper in was easier than I thought as the shapes could easily be turned inside out.

Now sewing the thing together was a different story all together. Because of the thickness of the 2 pieces together using the sewing machine was out. So, I started at the middle and sewed to one end and then back to the middle and the other end and back to the middle by hand with the thread doubled. I sewed at the edge of the flat part about ½ inch from the edge. It seemed to hold nicely.

Now I dug out some black glue gun sticks and glued the 2 halves together by pushing the ½ inch open edges apart and filled them with glue. Worked like a charm.

Next I attached the fringe to the front and the white edge to the back and I was done.
